Thirty dollars for a tube of mascara or $13 for a single eyeshadow seems like a lot of money to most people. It’s insane how much money we ladies often spend on makeup alone. However, if you think you’re spending a lot…think again.
The company H. Couture Beauty sells some of the most expensive makeup in the world: their mascaras average at $589 and their lip colors usually run around $150. Other products in their line: a lip plumper for about $348 and a lip liner for $120. These two do each come with one free refill, though… How generous.
In 2006, one customer even splurged and requested that their mascara and lipstick be customized with blue, white and pink 18-karat diamonds. This customization costs about $14 million. Doesn’t it make you appreciate that pathetic little tube of drugstore mascara that seemed so overpriced?

Wow!! I really thought I was spending a lot of money at MAC, Shephora, and Lancome. I just realized how cheap my makeup is. I don’t feel like complaining again. H. Couture Beauty is very expensive and like the Trisha says you do have to wonder how well the makeup actually works. I rather quality!!

I’m not sure any mascara would be worth almost $600 but for some it may, but I’m not going to lie… I would LOVE the mascara tube customized in diamonds..after all, diamonds ARE a girls best friend.

Its not called Hcouture .. its called the Socialite Collection and thats it. Hcouture is the category. Anyway!
I am a client of the Socialite Collection and I love it. But you guys are very late. The socialite collection has not been 3 figures since 2006. The cheapest thing is like $1050 and thats a lipstick. The mascara is $1,589. The only people who can buy it at the 3 figure prices are the ORIGINAL socialite clients. I love the collection and I take advantage of the clients only pricing and buy gifts for my family and friends all the time. There are alot of people in this world that can afford this collection and thats why its hot in global gilded circles. Some of you people have major class envy. Why would you speak so badly about something that has nothing to do with you? If you want it save for it. If not move along and hush. And please stop hating my gorsh!

A.) Gorsh? I’m confused.
B.) No one spoke badly of spending that much on makeup; they remarked on how unusual it was and wondered if it’d be worth it. I think most everyone expressed an honest interest in being able to do that themselves. I’m sorry you have to deal with so many “haters” – that must be just terrible for you. But you know what Jay-Z says – brush your shoulders off.
C.) Class envy? I don’t think it has anything to do with social class. (FYI, readers – income isn’t even the primary determinant of social class; it’s education.) I can think of some people who can afford much more than I can and have far less class than I do.
D.) I’m sorry we were so late in making this post. Perhaps our sources were *gasp* original exclusive Socialite Collection clients like you who get diamond-studded mascara for $3 a pop. At any rate, it pains me to think I may have inconvenienced someone with such prestigious social status by posting this article now, rather than just realizing it was so two years ago and committing seppuku with my laptop.
