Beauty’s already getting artsy with MAC makeup and Logics hair products; why shouldn’t fragrance follow? KENZO has teamed with designer Ron Arad for their new scent Unidentified Fragrance Object. Aurélien Guichard’s exquisite fragrance rejects the traditional olfactory pyramid and instead balances a powerful heart with four natural ingredients. The UFO bottle designed by Arad is currently on display at the Museum of Modern Art in New York City. Only 1,000 of these unique hand-polished bottles will be produced for the US!
Top notes: orange blossom, Bulgarian rose

Ashley Greene, the actress lucky enough to portray Twilight pixie Alice Cullen, showed us a nifty eye makeup trick at the Julie & Julia premiere: Match your eyeshadow to your highlights!
See how Ashley’s shimmery copper eye makeup brings out the light coppery tones in her hair? While matchy-matchy usually isn’t the way to go, here it’s so subtle it works. To make the look work for you, match an eyeshadow shade to the lightest strands of your hair (this works even if you don’t have highlights — even virgin hair has a few different hues in it).
Choose a metallic version of your highlight color to give your makeup a stronger impact for evening wear. Once you’ve matched up the shade, just apply it to your lids and up into crease. You’ve got a pulled-together look in seconds!

The Twilight saga continues this November with its next big-screen installment, New Moon — and its starlets look delish even if you’re not a vampire. Bloodsucking babes Nikki Reed, Rachelle Lefevre, Ashley Greene and Noot Seear got together with Glamour to give us mere mortals some tips on making your look oh so very after-dark.
Ashley Greene as Alice Cullen
If Forks had a resident undead cheerleader, it’d be Alice. This bubbly vamp understands that looking nighttime sexy doesn’t have to be severe, so try smoky brown eyes instead of black like Ashley Greene has here.
To get that sexy smudge-y effect, blend your eye makeup with a spongy applicator. Try using Dior 1-Colour Eyeshadow in Trendy Taupe ($28 at Sephora), then top with black eyeliner, light blush and a light pink lipstick.

I’m an art fanatic, so I was SO stoked to see this season’s M·A·C collection is chock full of artsy goodness for graphic designers and Dadaists alike. M·A·C celebrates the idea of makeup as art form with three artists who exemplify this idea through both the subjects they choose, and the wildly individual styles and colours used to convey them. Check it out!
MAC COSMETICS FALL ’09 AS SEEN BY RICHARD PHILLIPS, PAINTER
Using his skills of a photo-retoucher, Richard gave his own painting a M·A·C makeover with new eyeshadows, blushes, & lipsticks that just leap off the canvas!

For promoting a film called The Ugly Truth, star Katherine Heigl sure sported some pretty hair. Austin, Texas-based celebrity stylist Alan Ruiz calls the look “a messy, disheveled updo with lots of texture” and offered Glamour some tips on recreating this style yourself:
- Use a nickel-size amount of a liquid non-hardening gel like Aveda Confixor Liquid Gel on wet hair.
- Turn your head upside down and blow-dry with a paddle brush in a downward motion so that you get lots of va-va-voom volume at the root.
- Once the hair is dry, use a large curling iron to create a few loose, gentle waves, especially on the sections that edge the forehead.
- Next, take a dab of wet styling lotion like Aveda Volumizing Tonic and apply it by “scrunching” through the hair. This gives hair a subtle wet look while maintaining the sexy body we’ve created.
- Pull or pin the rest of your hair into a soft chignon. “I think this is the perfect evening beach-chic look–cool and elegant with body, but the wet effect keeps it casual,” Ruiz raves.
