White Eyebrow and Eyelashes Fashion Makeup with FlowerYou know the rules: don’t wear white before Memorial Day or after Labor Day, especially not below the waist. In general, avoid white shoes. Why so many restrictions? Despite its innocent reputation, white is in fact a brazenly feminine and unapologetic color that reveals its wearer’s true fabulosity. White makeup also provides an instant influx of confidence and flair. Since white can be tough to pull off, society has created guidelines by which the hue is least risky. We’re well into the accepted date range, so here are a couple of ways to work white into your makeup routine:

As an eyeliner: Draw carefully along the inner bottom rim of your eyelid with a white pencil eyeliner;  I love NARS Eyeliner Pencil in Iceberg.

For a shimmery shadow: Beginning at the inner corners of your eyes, dust a shimmery white eyeshadow over the lid. (In general, always start shadow application where you’d like it to be most intense; the inner corners of your eyes work great with a white highlight.) We dig Chanel Ombre Essentielle in No. 60 Ivory.

To give lips intense shine: White reflects light better than any color, so a gloss like Too Faced Diamond Gloss in White Diamond will deliver megawatt shine. Dab in the center of lips and on the Cupid’s bow after applying lipstick or a stain.

For nails with impact: We still love white nails for summer, and we still love to get them from Bourjois Very Vernis Nail Enamel in #02 Ivoire Sexy.
