Eye makeup is probably the area girls have the most trouble with. Here are some helpful tips on how to best apply eyeshadow:

- When applying eyeshadow, it is best to use a brush. Using the spongy applicator most come with can result in a lesser quality look. They can also absorb much more product, which wastes it in the end and when you’re paying $13 per eyeshadow, less is more!

- When applying the shadow, it is better to use a tapping movement than to slide the brush across the eyelid. Tapping the brush quickly against your lids in the places you want your shadow will apply it softly in layers until you get it to the intensity you want. It may take a few extra minutes, but the end result will be much, much prettier.

  1. Hi Amber,

What a good idea to tap the eye shadow on instead of swiping it on. I bet that would also help prevent eye shadow flakes from falling on the face. Thanks!

  2. Swiping make up on can cause wrinkles. I love the Jane Kabuki brush. It’s portable and works for putting on foundation too.
