Maybelline Mineral Power Natural Perfecting Foundation is the liquid version of Maybelline’s Bare Escentuals-esque mineral powder foundation. I tried it in Light Beige, and I have to say that the shade bordered on orange-y. Who’s heard of an orangey beige? Not me.
This SPF 18 foundation offers an on-the-fence type of coverage, definitely not sheer and definitely not full. While it seemed to mask minor discoloration like dark undereye circles well, my blemishes showed right through. What’s the deal? I thought Maybelline was targeted at younger girls – don’t they have zits?
Anyway, it’s not a bad finish for a sheer daytime look, and I did enjoy the blendable texture and dewy finish I got when I first applied it. If only it had lasted! The biggest problem with Maybelline Mineral Power Liquid Foundation is that it feels horrifically greasy. I have oily skin, so rubbing this stuff on felt like putting an oil slick on my face – eww.
The verdict: 2/5 stars – It’s a good price, but pick it up only if you have drier skin and aren’t worried about covering blemishes.

I think that this just wasn’t the right colour for you – I didn’t find it to be orangy, it matched my skintone almost perfectly (maybe it’s orangy too?). But yeah, I was surprised to see how sheer this was.
Maybe that was it, but I didn’t see another color choice that seemed more appropriate. I don’t usually have trouble finding one, either! /sigh
I think this foundation is awesome! It blends perfectly into my skin and makes my face really soft.
I like this liquid mineral powder, the caramel matches my complexion perfectly. It isnt orangeyor greasy at all, being an african american woman, I usually have that problem with foundation.
I’m a big fan of the mineral powder, I haven’t tried the liquid yet. I’m looking for a little more coverage and a glow. My face usually is pretty dry. I have oily days but nothing over the top. Do you think it’s a good idea to buy this liquid foundation or do you have other suggestions?
Do not purchase if you have oily skin. Face will become oily and shiny within 30 minutes and the makeup will wear off.
I love these foundations. I use it during the winter when my face is more dry. It’s light and dries to a powder that’s not too cakey. Amazing!
love the product! it’s not like the Maxfactor liquid foundation that gives full coverage and that
celebrity- look though. But what i like about this one is that it’s light and looks au natural. Maxfactor gave my skin read bumps and resulted to pimples. The product is oil- free and made my skin smoother and lighter. This isn’t for ones who have oily complexion. Don’t use liquid foundation if you have an oily skin. It will only trigger the bacteria on your skin. Use LOOSE mineral powder.
