One of my favorite components to my daily beauty routine is the MAC Paint Pot. The product can be used either for color or for priming the eyelids before application of eyeshadow; I use it most often for the second instance, and it works wonders. I have mine in Painterly, a creamy nude beige color, but they are also available in a wide variety of other colors, both pearly and matte.
The paint pot intensifies the color of your shadows, making them vibrant and true. Green is really green; blue is really blue.
Another benefit: MAC Paint Pot extends the life of other eye makeup you’re wearing. Preventing creases, it keeps eyeshadow in place and looking great. It works so well, you could even sleep in it and your eye make up would still look great when you woke up! It’ll at least make it through a night of dancing with your best girlfriends. It’s one of my favorite eye shadow primers I’ve tried.
Another little secret? It works great as a concealer too, especially for covering dark under-eyes. Since the nude beige color of Painterly matches my skin pretty well, I just use a concealer brush and apply a little to my blemishes and under my eyes. It works better than a lot of actual concealers I’ve tried. I can’t say it would work for everyone, but if it matches your skin, I would definitely give it a try!
The verdict: 10/10!
I love this product, and would recommend it to anyone.

I have to agree that Paint is fantastic! My daughter-in-law told me about it since she likes to use very dark shadow on her entire upper lid (looks great on her). She said it stops smearing & smudging so I bought the Paint in that little tube to match my colour – Bare Canvas.
I still have oily skin at my age & eye liner never lasts more than a hour or two for me. Paint really keeps my liner & shadow in place & yes, I’ve used it as a concealer too. I put it on very thin in the darkest areas under my eyes & layered the mineral powder I use over it.
Funny that you say you could even sleep in it ’cause that’s what I purposely did to test it out. Next morning, my eye makeup was still in place despite my face in the pillow when I sleep on my stomach. This is great stuff!! (No, I don’t sleep with makeup on – this was only a test.)
Im glad to hear that you can back me up on my review. I would highly recommend this to anyone who wants to keep looking fab all day long.
glad to hear you liked it just as much as me!
umm do you know where i can buy it?
[...] MAC Paint Pot. I use it to prime my eyelids for my eyeshadow, and as a concealer for my blemishes. [...]
I found with the MAC paint pot in the dark brown color which is named Quite Natural it can be used as a brow filler and it wont budge all day. It’s pretty awsome
omg thnks. i was looking for an answerr uhghh thnk you haha
One of the ladies at the MAC counter actually recommended MAC Paint Pots to help prevent creasing, even after I asked her about MAC’s Prep & Prime for the eyes.
I was really disappointed to see that after a few hours, MAC’s paint pot in painterly creased for me. Maybe it’s because I have oily lids, but I was really hoping this product would work. Hopefully, the MAC counter will let me return this item . . .
