Recently, I decided to give a try to L’Oreal’s HIP Cream Eyeliner. With the cute little pot it comes in and the “Buy one, get one free” deal going on- I could not resist!
At first, I was kind of hesitant when I saw the slant tip applicator brush it came with. Since I am one of the less fortunate ones that can’t quite figure out how to win the battle with liquid liner, and don’t always get my pencils right, I was in total shock at how easily it just glided on, and in a perfect line! Not only that but the color (Black 905) was bold (guess that is why they call it High Intensity Pigments!) and didn’t smudge at all!
Another plus – it takes barely any product at all to get it exactly right. I find that one or two small dips into the pot of creamy black is all it takes!
The only negative thing I noticed was: although I got my top lid lined perfectly, I could never seem to get the bottom just right, but it is possible that it is just my lack of coordination haunting me again. The price is also steep for the drugstore, but I have seen worse. Check it out yourself on Drugstore.com for $12.00.
Either way, I loved it and I give it a 4/5 stars!
I purchased 2 of these posts and returned both of them. Both pots I purchased from CVS, and the product was equally dried out. The formula didn’t glide smoothly and ended up clumping.
I used to work for CVS, and I found that a lot of the products they had were very old, and a lot of times expired. I recommend trying somewhere like Walgreens or Walmart, or you can purchase it at http://www.drugstore.com. These places are usually pretty good about keep up-to-date products on their shelves so you don’t have to worry about them drying out.
Great advice, Amber! Clearance products are a big red flag too, since they’ve often been out for a long time.

I have to say I love this eyeliner! I thought it would be difficult to apply… Not the case. It glides on so smoothly. I also purchased mine at CVS but did not have any problem with it. Maybe that is because it sells out so fast! All I can say is I love it!
