Makeup products seem to be getting a makeover themselves everyday, and the biggest trend comes in changing traditional application methods. Enter Terry de Gunzburg, creator of YSL’s superstar Touche Eclat Radiant Touch and founder of the high-end line By Terry. I was lucky enough to try By Terry’s Light Expert Foundation, and I’m happy to report I was impressed.
This product needs a little explanation – basically, your foundation comes with a brush attached (reminiscent of its YSL counterpart). Luckily, if you’re not comfy with applying foundation with a brush you can always use your fingertips. (I tried it in #101 Beige Light, if you’re curious.)
The first great surprise By Terry provided me with was the scent – this foundation, unlike most, did not smell like some lubricant I would put in my car. Rather, the scent was airy and reminded me of a typical eye cream or moisturizer. The product’s weight was its next great feature – it felt light like a tinted moisturizer, and wasn’t at all sticky. It blended flawlessly (both with the brush and without!) and when I looked up, my skin was absolutely luminous. Radiant. I couldn’t believe I’d gotten such full coverage out of such a silky, airy product!
The verdict: 5/5 stars! Now you girls know I’m stingy with these 5s, but this product deserved it hands down.
VIP Expert By Terry Light Expert Foundation sells at eLUXURY for $48.

Cailin: How was it after a few hours? I’ve had some really great foundations that actually looked terrible after a while.
Trisha, great question! I actually had no problems with it after several hours of wear. It still provided great coverage, the color didn’t darken (which some are prone to do) and it didn’t melt off or get sticky in the oppressive Houston heat. This one’s a winner!
I love this idea! Too Faced has a foundation with the same applicator for a lot less. I’ve used both and like the Too Faced foundation better! you can find it at Nordstroms or Sephora.
As someone with oily skin, I’m curious as to whether this will make my skin more shiny/ oily looking?
