Famed French fashion designer Jean Paul Gaultier excited metrosexuals everywhere yesterday when his new line of man makeup debuted. It’s called, appropriately, Monsieur, and he’s referring to them as “aesthetic enhancement” products (presumably so that manly types don’t kill themselves with the thought of wearing - gasp - makeup). The line includes facial cleanser, toner, shaving products, concealer, eyeliner, brow grooming gel, and bronzer, and is priced reasonably from $10 to $60.
Gender-bending is no new arena for Jean Paul - in ‘03 he debuted his first man makeup line, and way back in 1984 he even showed skirts for men. I love the idea personally - breaking barriers is awesome, and men need help too! Still, I can’t imagine my hubby will pick it up.

I think this is a relaunch of his line which was not called Monsieur before. He’s had makeup out for a long time, and it was mainly bronzer, chapstick, eyeliner, and a glossy mascara I think. I guess they felt they needed a revitalization so now there’s this!
Yeah, I read that too. I imagine now it’ll get some more mainstream publicity, what with the current media and the proliferation of man-friendly products and fashion. (Go Queer Eye!)
