For those of you who watch Rock of Love (God help you…and me), you know that despite Bret Michaels‘ futile attempts to trade innocent hottie Megan Hauserman for headcase Kristy Joe Muller, the drama queen with the random guy spelling of her middle name chose to check out on last night’s episode to deal with “things at home.” (If you didn’t catch the episode, well…spoiler alert? Get DVR, people.) Kristy Joe contributed many wonderful things to the show, including crocodile tears, a germ phobia, and – great eye makeup! Here’s how to make your eyes look like Kristy Joe’s – just don’t cry it off in 10 seconds like she does.

1. Do your brows first using my guide, attempting to copy the heavily arched shape Kristy Joe uses with emphasized inner corners. Note: please don’t shave your eyebrows off like Kristy Joe. (Yes, that’s all pencil. Playboy taught her well.)

2. Kristy Joe used two basic eyeshadow color combinations on the show: a magenta and deep purple-brown, or a orange-gold and dark bronze brown. Pick the one you like best (they’ll compliment all light eye colors well and most dark colors too, so just choose based on what shadow colors you already have). Use either the magenta or orange-gold (the lighter of your two shades) and apply all over the eyelid. Using the darker shade, apply to the crease and up the browbone about 1/4″ in a crescent shape, bowing slightly out at the corner to get a more cat-eyed effect. Edge the dark shadow down the outer edge of the eyelid, angling inward. Then apply a light cream-colored eyeshadow at the top of the browbone underneath the entire brow, blending well so it appears to be a natural highlight. (I recommend a cream or liquid shadow for highlighting.)

3. Though it does look like she’s using fake eyelashes here, they’re not necessary for this look. A simple pass of the eyelash curler will do; use it right before applying mascara. (If yours doesn’t have any plastic on it, run the hairdryer over it on high for about 15 seconds. This will increase the curling effect.) Apply mascara lightly to lower lashes (one swipe should do). Run a thin line of black liquid eyeliner over the top lashes, increasing in thickness toward the outer corner to about 1/8″ and ending in a point. Continue the liner 1/3 of the way across the bottom lid, then switch to a black kohl pencil. Dot and smudge the pencil subtly underneath lower lashes toward the inner corner of the eye, and stop at about 1/5 of the lower lid left unlined. (Too much math?) Run the kohl pencil along the inner rim of the top eyelid, and use a white matte pencil on the inner rim of the bottom eyelid to make eyes appear larger.

4. Pair with natural-looking dewy foundation and a cheek tint; don’t use powder or you’ll look overdone. Lips should be a light pink or nude, whichever suits your complexion best. Congratulations! You now look like a high maintenance game-playing tease! But one with great eyes.
