Teen country starlet Taylor Swift gave the red carpet a chill by sporting an alluring, ethereal icy blue eyeshadow at the 50th Annual Grammy Awards that beautifully accentuated her blue eyes. The rest of her makeup was kept matte and natural, with just a touch of pink lipstick and blush.
To recreate Taylor’s eye makeup look at home, just follow these steps:
- Smooth MAC’s Paint Pot in Painterly evenly over your entire eyelids and let dry. Then, blend a neutral shadow with a hint of sparkle like Bobbi Brown Shimmer Wash from lashline to browbone.
- Apply a shimmery light blue smudgy eyeliner pencil like the blue in Shiseido The Makeup Accentuating Color Pencils to the eyes’ inner corners and halfway across the lower lash rim.
- Apply a deeper blue like Make Up For Ever Eye Shadow in Iridescent True Blue to the outer edges of lids, making a cat-eye shape from the outside of the lower rim into the crease. Blend the two eyeshadow colors together with a clean shadow brush.
- Finally, line upper eyelashes and the outer corners of lower lashes with navy shadow (we like Make Up For Ever in Metallic Navy Blue Iridescent #81). Apply false eyelashes to make your eyes look wider and add two coats of black mascara.
