Audrina Patridge, star of The Hills and the upcoming Sorority Row, shared one of her favorite beauty secrets that’s perfect for fall: pumpkin! Here are her recipes for a DIY pumpkin mask and facial scrub:

Pumpkin Facial Mask
  • 2 tsp. cooked/canned pumpkin
  • 1/2 tsp. honey
  • 1/4 tsp. milk (or whipping cream if your skin is very dry)
  1. Combine ingredients and apply to clean skin with gentle circular motions, avoiding the eye area.
  2. Leave on for 10-15 minutes. Rinse with warm water, pat dry, then apply moisturizer.

Pumpkin, SugarĀ & Spice Scrub
  • 1/2 cup cooked/canned pumpkin, pureed
  • 1/2 cup brown sugar
  • 1/4 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  1. Combine ingredients in a bowl.
  2. Stand in the tub or shower and use a damp washcloth to scoop some of the mixture up. Apply to body, starting with your feet and working your way up. Avoid your face. Scrub gently using circular motions.
  3. Rinse with warm water and pat dry.

  1. I would think that if you still any laying around that FRESH pumpkin would be way better then cooked, all the antioxidants would still be in there and fresh and ready to GO to work on your skin. a lot of extra trouble but maybe a pumpkin facial party. and toast the seeds!

  2. I will have to try this out with my seven year old. She is very much into “girly” things and this is right up her alley when it comes to a Mommy and me day. Any chance that I will end up looking like Audrina after I do this facial??

  3. KG – Good point! Fresh almost always works better. Still, you never know – some things actually become more potent over time, like alcohol. :-)

Chellybella – Heh – don’t we all wish! Seriously though, I LOVE the idea of you doing facials with your daughter on a “Mommy and me” day! That’s adorable. I will most definitely be doing this if I have a daughter. (Of course with my luck, I’ll end up with a super-tomboy who never takes off her baseball cap and hates brushing her hair.)
