Yet another reason not to put on makeup behind the wheel: TMZ reported that Britney Spears caused a car wreck last week on when she was applying makeup while driving!
According to the California Highway Patrol, Britney drove her white 2008 Mercedes into the back of a ‘06 Nissan as the popwreck drove on the 101 Freeway in Los Angeles around 8:20 PM on Saturday night. TMZ chatted with the Nissan’s driver, a man in his early twenties from the Valley, who said that before the accident he was admiring a woman putting on makeup who was driving a white Mercedes, not realizing it was Britney Spears herself until after she hit him. To be fair, the man says he wasn’t sure if she was still putting on makeup at the time of the crash, and she was only going 10-15 miles per hour at the time of the collision according to CHP. Still, for the price of that touchup, you’d think she might look better than this!
Britney’s bodyguard apologized for the incident, but Britney herself didn’t; she in fact spoke very little, only mentioning that she was on the way to dinner with her mom. Britney passed the field sobriety test - shocker! While no injuries were reported at the scene, the man Brit crashed into claims that he woke up with a sore back the next morning and is looking into booking an appointment with a chiropractor. Surprise, surprise.
Ladies, please don’t put on makeup in the car, especially not if you’re driving! It’s a recipe for disaster. And if you absolutely must, here’s a couple of rules to follow:
- - Wait until you’re at a stoplight.
- - Don’t ever apply mascara, eyeliner or anything you could stab yourself in the eye with.
- - Stick to low-maintenance stuff like tinted moisturizer and lip balm.
