Kate Winslet couldn’t remember Angelina Jolie’s name in her Golden Globes acceptance speech, but we sure remember her natural, sultry look at the ceremony. Angelina’s makeup came courtesy of celebrity makeup artist Mary Burton, while hairstylist David Babaii styled Angeline’s hair. The two share their tips on how to recreate the look that keeps Brad Pitt mesmerized.
Angelina’s Golden Globes Makeup
Mary wanted to create a sheer, natural look and chose to focus on Angie’s eyes. Here’s what she did and what products she used:
- Eye Makeup: Mary applied Lancôme Artliner in Noir to the lash line starting at the inner corners of Angie’s eyes and blending outward. To create drama, she used two different mascaras: Lancôme Virtuôse and Lancôme Ôscillation Mascara (both in Black) and applied a few coats of both to add volume and length.
- Face Makeup: Mary added just a touch of color to the apples of Angelina’s cheeks by applying Lancôme Color Design Blush in Model Mocha with her finger.
- Lips: To finish the look, Mary used Lancôme Juicy Tubes in Spring Fling for a soft, pale pink, glossy pout.
Angelina’s Golden Globes Hairstyle
- Angelina Jolie’s hairstyle from the 2009 Golden Globes is doable with three simple tools: a hairdryer, a round hairbrush and a texturizing spray. First, David blow-dried her hair with his David Babaii for WildAid Hair Dryer and a round brush.
- After Angelina’s hair was dry, David took large sections of hair, twisting the ends around the brush and spraying each with his Bohemian Beach Spray.
- Using the hairdryer on low speed, David gave each section of hair a blast of warm air to set.
- After cooling, each section of hair was gently unwrapped from the hairbrush and additional Bohemian Beach Spray was scrunched in to create volume and lift.

So natural makeup….really i think this year barefaced is the new makeup style
is she really not wearing foundation?anyone know
Darcy,
This report is straight from her makeup artist, but you never know…it does look like Angie’s wearing at least some concealer and probably foundation to me too. I know I wouldn’t be caught on the red carpet without it!
I think she’s wearing foundation, but very sheer. She looks great.
Thanks for posting the hair how-to, Cailin. I haven’t seen that posted anywhere else!
