I attended “Transform From Within”, a spring beauty event at 35 Makeup Design in Rice Village on Tuesday, and I have to say I was impressed with their wild style. Who knew local beauty could be so colorful?
The cosmetics boutique houses a sister team of makeup artists, Dyanna Wilson and Neita Felty, both of whom have worked with celebrities, video and editorial photo shoots. The artists created sensational looks they dubbed “butterfly makeup” on several employees. The effect was reminiscent a Mardi Gras mask, but in the most feminine and intense of palettes. (The fabulous blue eyelashes on the girl in the yellow are from Make Up For Ever, if you’re curious.)
The event benefitted Pink Door, a charity devoted to women recovering from cancer, and introduced Borba Skin Balance Water, an interesting new approach to getting great skin. Along with these amazing looks, Neita showed me how to create a great blue smoky eye effect on myself. Expect a how-to on that soon, ladies!
